Variable Tuition
A Great Education Should Always Be Possible
We believe every child deserves access to an exceptional education. Our Variable Tuition program adjusts costs based on each family’s financial situation — so more students can thrive, regardless of income.

Our Variable Tuition Program
We understand that every family’s financial situation is unique. Our Variable Tuition program allows Kindergarten–8th grade families to apply for a reduced tuition rate based on their specific financial profile.
Using a sliding scale, families may qualify for up to 50% off the full tuition amount. The percentage paid is based on factors such as household income, mortgage or rent, debt payments, and bank/investment balances (excluding retirement accounts).
This optional program is designed to reflect the tuition assistance model many families are already familiar with—and all applications are handled with the highest level of confidentiality.
We partner with a trusted third-party service, FACTS, to process applications and determine need. Families can expect transparency, respect, and support throughout the process.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who decides my Variable Tuition amount?
We partner with FACTS, a confidential third-party organization, to review your financial information. Their analysis, along with the details you provide, helps us determine your family’s tuition amount.
Why is personal financial information required?
FACTS verifies your income and expenses so we can fairly assess your eligibility for tuition adjustment.
How can I check the status of my application?
After submitting your online application, you can log into your FACTS account anytime to track progress. You’ll also receive an email from Southside once your information has been reviewed—typically within 10 business days.
When will I be notified of my award?
You’ll receive an email with your tuition rate as soon as it’s finalized.
Can I explain special circumstances?
Yes. At the end of the application, there’s a place to share any unique situations that may affect your financial picture.
Do I need to apply each year?
Yes. Because financial situations can change, a new application is required annually.
What if I don’t qualify this year? Can I apply again?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to reapply next year if your circumstances change.
Does Variable Tuition apply to preschool?
No. Variable Tuition is only available for Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Will applying for Variable Tuition affect my child’s admission?
Not at all. Tuition decisions are made separately from admissions.
What if I haven’t completed my taxes yet?
You can use your best estimates and submit your application by the May 15th deadline. You’ll be able to update your file and upload your tax forms later.
