Dress CodeWe believe outward appearance reflects the internal character that God is building in each child here at Southside Christian School. Neatness, cleanliness, modesty, and safety are the basic guidelines of our dress code.1st through 8th Grade:
A student who does not wear clothing that fits within the dress code will be permitted to call home for a new outfit or choose to wear clothes provided by the school for the day. A $5.00 clothing fee will be charged to the student’s account. Southside Christian School reserves the right to make changes in the policy as the parents, staff, and Board of Directors deem necessary. Preschool/Kindergarteners: Children are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate play clothes to school. Expensive clothes could be damaged by the play and activities of your child’s school day. The school cannot be responsible for tears or stains to clothing that occur in the course of normal activities. When your child dresses in play clothes, he/she feels free to participate in all activities without restriction. On any given day, your child may play with paint, clay, sand, or water. We do not worry (nor should your child) about a bit of paint or dirt stain on clothing. It simply means that your child has had fun and interesting learning experiences. Please mark your child’s name in all coats, gloves, boots, hats, etc. Weather permitting, (meaning it is not raining); the children go outside for recess. Please ensure your child is dress appropriately for the weather outside. Accidents happen – we have a small supply of extra clothing, but not all children are comfortable wearing the extra clothes. It is optional to send a complete change of clothes in your child’s backpack or school tote. Unfortunately, we do not have the space at school to keep a spare set of clothes for each child. |
