Arrival and Dismissal
Kindergarten
We ask your cooperation with our time schedule. Morning kindergarten begins promptly at 8:45 a.m. and afternoon kindergarten begins promptly at 12:15 p.m. Doors open to the school five minutes earlier. Beginning in October, you may elect to drop your child off on Latawah Street where we will have volunteers waiting to greet your child.
School ends at 11:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Your promptness is important and appreciated. Children become apprehensive if they feel they have been left or forgotten. If you will be late picking up your child, please call the school office and leave a message. You will pick up your kindergarten student at their classroom door. Their teacher will dismiss them to you.
If someone not on your authorized list is going to pick up your child, please inform the teacher. The teacher will not release your child to a stranger. Teachers will request a photo identification the first time a new adult picks up your child.
1st – 8th Grade
We ask your cooperation with our time schedule. School begins promptly at 8:45. Doors open to the school at 8:30. You may drop your child off by the door on Latawah Street or by the door that faces the parking lot.
School ends at 3:15 p.m. Your promptness is important and appreciated. Pick up may happen at either entrance. Please decide with your child which door he/she will use to meet you at the end of the school day. If there are special instructions regarding your child’s pick up, (e.g. walk home, not permitted to go home with a certain person, etc.) please inform the teacher. Students not picked up by 3:30 will be brought into the school to be supervised by a teacher. Parents picking up their student after 3:30 will be assessed a late fee of $20.00 per hour. The school is legally responsible for students until they leave the school property. We have the responsibility to ensure their safety. All students must be picked up by 4:00.
