School ActivitiesStudents at Southside Christian School participate in the following special school activities: Open HouseSeveral times a year we host an open house at which time parents and prospective students are welcome to come tour our schools and talk with our teachers and administrators. P.J. DayWe do not celebrate Halloween. This is our Halloween alternative. Students and adults come to school in pajamas. More information to come as the date approaches. Grandparents DayGrandparents of 1st-8th grade students are invited to share an afternoon in October in their grandchild(ren’s) class. Students will be celebrating their grandparents and the important role their grandparents play in their lives. Christmas PageantThe students will be preparing a special evening program to share with their families. Mothers’ Day LuncheonStudents prepare a special luncheon with the help of the administrators and the music teacher, as a gift to their mothers for Mother’s Day. Father’s Day CelebrationIn February the students celebrate their dads with special songs and treats. All School PicnicThe entire school and their families meet on the last day of school at Upper Manito Park to have a picnic lunch together. It is a wonderful way to begin summer by socializing with other school families and the staff. Green Bluff Fruit RanchOur pre-schoolers have the opportunity to go to Walter's Fruit Ranch in Green Bluff for a tour of the orchards, where they can pick an apple and a pumpkin to take home. Book FairThough book orders are ongoing throughout the school year, we also host a book fair where parents and students can peruse the wonderful world of books. Southside Swindler StrideA new event in 2007-2008, this sponsored walk during school hours will benefit the Barb Swindler Scholardship Fund. |
