Three-Year-Old Classes
Children must be three by September 1, 2008 and be FULLY POTTY TRAINED. Each class is limited to eight students.
Two sessions per week
Available class times are:

Developmental Objectives and Curricular Guidelines
Objectives for Spiritual Development
- States that God made everything.
- States that all love comes from God.
- States that God made Jesus and always loves Him.
- States that Jesus is God who came to earth as a baby.
- States that Christmas is Jesus’ birthday.
- Demonstrates the ability to talk to God by praying.
- States that the Bible is God’s message (letter) to us.
- States that Jesus died but came back to life and is alive today.
- States that Heaven is where people who love God will live with Him forever.
- States that God has a special plan for his/her life.
Objectives for Cognitive Development
- Recites (sings) the alphabet song.
- Recognizes and names the first letter of his/her name.
- Counts from one to ten.
- Recognizes the following colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black and brown.
- Recognizes (but not necessarily names) a circle, square, and triangle.
- Follows simple instructions using common prepositions
(into, over, under, around, etc.).
Objectives for Language Development
- Communicates needs and wants to teacher and classmates.
- Talks about a toy, picture, etc. of his/her choice during Show and Tell.
- Recognizes that letters make up words, and words can be read and have meaning.
- Recites simple Bible verses and finger plays and sings songs.
Objectives for Gross Motor Development
- Hops forward, backward and in place on two feet.
- Balances on one foot momentarily.
- Throws a ball or beanbag.
- Rolls a ball in a specific direction.
- Uses a brush to paint a large (two by three foot) piece of paper.
- Runs forward and in place and stops/starts on command.
- Stacks large blocks to his/her own height.
Objectives for Fine Motor Development
- Holds crayon, marker, pencil with a three-fingered grip.
- Fits age-appropriate wooden puzzle pieces together.
- Cuts along a straight line with scissors (pinch type).
- Laces yarn through punched cards.
- Connects a broken line using a marker.
- Draws straight lines following a given pattern.
- Strings beads, cereal, etc. on yarn or string.
- Washes and dries hands independently.
Objectives for Social Development
- Shares toys (blocks, kitchen dishes, etc.) with other children.
- Waits for a turn with specific toy (doll, truck, etc.).
- Listens to teacher or others who are speaking.
- Waits for a turn to speak.
- Takes a place in line and follows (or acts as) the line leader.
- Says “please” when requesting something.
- Says “thank you” when appropriate.
- Uses words to work out difficult situations with classmates.
- Comfortably leaves parent and joins school activities.
- Transitions from one activity to another at teacher’s direction.
- Assumes responsibility for classroom clean-up duties.
- Shows respect for school authorities and property.
- Shows respect for classmates and their property.
- Shows reverence for God during prayer, Bible reading, or chapel.
- Asks for and accepts forgiveness from others.
