History
Southside Christian School began as a preschool in 1994. We expanded to offer first grade in 2001, and have since grown to offer a comprehensive spiritual and academic curriculum for students in preschool through eighth grade. Our goal is to eventually offer a Christian education through twelfth grade.
Southside Christian is a Washington State approved private school that is in the process of accreditation through the association on Christian Schools International (ACSI). We are also an approved non-profit organization.
Staff members each have a personal, intimate relationship with God, and offer a living example of a life changed by His grace and love. Each one feels called to this opportunity to impact the lives of children. Our Kindergarten through ninth grade teachers have current Washington State teaching certificates, while the majority of our preschool teachers have degrees in Education or Early Childhood Development. The entire staff is dedicated to ongoing professional development that will ensure that they are equipped to provide your child with the best possible education.
Class sizes are kept small to allow teachers to meet and develop the unique interests of each child; and, to enable teachers to attend to individual learning styles and needs. We strive to provide a high quality Christian academic experience in an enriched environment that fosters intellectual, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual development.
At Southside Christian we hold a standard of excellence. We believe that excellence is enabling every child to fulfill his or her God-given potential with respect to the fact that each child is unique. Our expectation is that every student will reach his or her highest potential academically, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and socially. Carefully chosen curriculum coupled with teacher expertise ensures that students are provided with instruction, training, guidance that will enable them to meet these high expectations.
